Six of Alaska's First Ladies since statehood met in Juneau during the summer of 2005 to share their memories about the Alaska Governor's house, a house they all once called home.

From California, Lake Clark, Anchorage, and Juneau, the former First Ladies return to Alaska's capital city to take part in this historic program. The Governor's house features personal reflections and anecdotes from the First Ladies and an unusual house tour of the first floor where public functions take place. See the ballroom, used to host USO dances during World War II, two Chippendale chairs that are the oldest pieces of furniture in the house, an original Territorial Seal that had been painted over and not revealed until the major 1986 renovation, and the "convincing room" where officials that needed to be convinced were talked to by some earlier governors. Nancy Murkowski also allowed taping on the infrequently seen second and third floors, the First Family's private living area.
